I read Petr's post on How to Study for Your CCIE and really liked the spaced repetition concepts, which I have been using.
I recently started adding DOC-CD config guide locations to my Lab Commands flash cards to add familiarity about where I might find a hint if I need one during the real lab.
Example:
Q:
What is the OSPF command used to detect link failures between neighbors in less than one second?
A:
interface x/y
ip ospf dead-interval minimal hello-multiplier <number of hellos in 1 second to bead the 1 second dead timer>
IOS 12.4.. IP Routing: OSPF.. OSPF Support for Fast Hello Packets.. Configuring OSPF Fast Hello Packets
Does anyone think this is a waste of time or do you think it will add any value during the real exam? It's definitely slowing my studies down a bit, but I'm also having to browse the Config Guide section of the "DOC-CD" a lot.
I appreciate any opinions.
