First off..you know you've had a long night of labs when you type "router eigrp 100" into the URL bar.
Anyways, my question..
On the lab ..EIGRP Traffic Engineering with Metric
We are tasked with manipulating the metric on R7 for R9 to prefer the route through R3 to get to R6's loopback. Seem straight forward enough..
First thing I decide to check is if there is a feasible successor on R9...so I know what I'll need to modify the delay so to prefer the path through R3.
Hm....that's weird..no feasible successor. Let me check the all links
Still nothing.. I found that if I shut down R7's link to R6 that I see the route through R3 in the topology table....as seen below:
As you can see we are ONLY using delay as the method for calculating the metric. The route through R3 is definitely a feasible sucessor...so why would it only show up in the topology table AFTER I shut down the interface to R6?
