HI all,
Ever since I studied BGP during the CCNP I have always wondered how an ISP can advertise just the 0/0 route to the customer?
It was my undertanding and a recent network meltdown when I peered with the provider and received the entire BGP table. I didn't want the entire table, the client stated they had told that to the provider but it obviously wasn't the case.
So my question is this, How does the provider only advertise a client a default route to the internet while avoiding the 450k route BGP table?
My other question: If I peer with the provider, but I only want to advertise my routes into BGP and learn my remote site networks via iBGP?
Thanks in advance!
Rob
