Hi All,
Bit off topic, but I want to run a Cisco router for my BT infinity (80Mbit down & 20Mbit up over VDSL). I want a cheap proper Cisco router (not some 800 series rubbish) with the troughput to handle 80mbit down & also do ipsec vpn stuff. I know on the 1841 and 2811 you can just install the IOS and can get away without installing a licence for the vpn stuff (unlike the 1900 & 2900 series routers which force you to get a licence to work). So I'm thinking maybe to get the Cisco 2821 model as, according to the performance sheets (http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/downloads/765/tools/quickreference/routerperformance.pdf) it can do 87Mbit/s throughput, and my broadband will be 80 Mbit down (73 Mbit estimated). So I think it will be okay. But I would like your thoughts.
The router will use an external modem & use PPPoE.
Regards,
Steve
