Hi guys,
I am looking to go after my 3rd CCIE after completing R&S and SP over the last few years.
So my dilemma is.... which track next?!
My view on the tracks is...
R&S - This is the 'base' CCIE. Everything else builds on routing and switching in some way
SP - This build on R&S with more focus on BGP and MPLS
SEC - This is all about securing the network infrastructure
DC - This is about technology found in the data centre - Nexus, storage, UCS
Wireless - This is about WLAN infrastructure
Collaboration - This is the odd one out for me and that's what makes it interesting. The five tracks listed about all focus on infrastructure. Collab is the only one that is application based in my option. Do you agree?
My other question is how relevant/in demand is Collab in the industry today? Sure VOIP was a hot topic say 5 years ago. Nowadays I am seeing a lot of people rolling out products like Lync where typically the network team do not have a great deal of involvement.
Thoughts and opinions appreciated.
