2.1 - use distance 255 instead of filtering?

In the RIP task on 2.1 on R4 where we are not supposed to accept any RIP updates from BB2 the SG uses a distribute list to filter the updates.

However i applied the command 'distance 255 192.10.1.254 0.0.0.0' which more or less does the same thing.... Would this be an accepted solution?
