I well understand that:
A double colon indicates the part of the address containing only zeroes that has been compressed, to help make the address shorter.
However:
Does Double Colun (::) in IPv6 Global Unicast address; used to separate Global Prefix and Subnet ID on the one side (left) with Interface ID on the other side (right)?
My question is very general and trying to understand the usage of Double Colon in practical sense, specially w.r.t. its relationship with Interface ID if it is there any.
Anyone having practical working/implementation knowledge of IPv6 would be the rightone to comment.
