I have a couple of questions relating to NPV design with UCS and N5K / MDS.
1) If I have my fabric interconnects in end-host-mode for fc (i.e. NPV mode), does the Northbound N5K have to be in NPIV mode? I am assuming so, and that this would be the only supported topology?
2) If I had an MDS with NPIV and one of its F ports connecting to an N5K configured for NPV, then my fabric interconnects would have to connect directly into the MDS and not the N5K?
3) Also, if I had an MDS with NPIV connecting to an N5K in NPV, could I connect my UCS to the N5K if it were in FC switching mode? Again I think not (at least not for the same VSAN ansyway), as then we would have an N5K in NPV mode, connecting to two different NPIV switches on the same VSAN?
Thanks
Dominic
