I have been watching the trend in the firewall technologies for the past 6 months, and it looks like this so-called NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) is really becoming important for the market.
Since 2011 Gartner is putting PAN and CheckPoint as the two leaders for this new type of FW. The last Gartner's Magic Quadrant of Feb 2013 is not different. And the worrying part (at least for me, I'm Cisco guy) is that Gartner says in the last report that Cisco has minimum to none offer on this NGFW market.
At first I did not want to belive this, but now I'm watching how companies that need to refresh their FWs are looking for NGFWs and Cisco is not top in their list of vendors to consider. Based on the fact that CheckPoint has been in the market for many years and PAN is pretty much new, in my opinion the real leader for NGFW market for the next 2 years (unless Cisco fights back, and I hope they do, and very soon) will be CheckPoint. And more and more CheckPoint Engineers will be required, hence the need for good quality training.
So my question is are you considering to provide CheckPoint FW training?
