[Last minute advice]

Hi, all:

Next week, I'll be taking the lab and I thought I'd ask for you opinion on how to handle the exam questions as to how far should I go into best-practices and invest valuable time in configuration that might not actually be required. I'll give you a few examples (if you would handle them differently, please comment):

- Say the ask for EIGRP or RIP in a PE-CE MPLS VPN setup and not explicitly for a 'best-practice', would you dedicate time to configure loop-avoidance stuff (soo, route-tagging)?

- Say they ask for some form of interAS multicast (vpn), would you take the time to configure multicast-boundary and filter out non-used multicast groups?

- Imagine they ask for interAS vpn option C: for your label table to be complete, you will most likely have to redistribute BGP loopbacks into igp, would you configure a route-map on bgp-to-igp redistribute to filter which loopbacks get redistributed into igp if it's not explicitly asked for? Same thing between ASBRs, would you filter on outbound your local loopbacks and only set the mpls-label for those that are going to be used for the interAS vpn.

Trying to do all this cool stuff can potentially introduce even more problems if you misconfigure something that they're not actually asking you to do.

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

c.
