Im pretty new to the whole Nexus Switching environment, and I havent had chance to watch any of the nexus videos, so apologies if this is covered.
I've noticed in a running-config that two vlans have been configured slightly differently,
vlan 100
name 1st_floor_data
!
vlan 200!
name 1st_floor_voice
!
vlan configuratiton 100, 200 <<<<<this is what Im interested in.
I've had a look over the docss for this command and its not that detailed. The explanation is,
"Beginning with Cisco NX-OS Release 5.1(1), you can configure a VLAN before you create the VLAN. This procedure is used for IGMP snooping, VTP, and other configurations."
So, im thinking, its like basicaly setting up the control plane before turning on the taps. Is this corrrect.
Any input would be much appreciated.
