We have two DCs connected with two DCIs. OTV is running (on a separate Nexus 7k VPCs), with the known limitation that all traffics are still using only one link. Cisco design guides suggest using mulitple overlays and to spread the extend-vlans across them. This will enable load balacing across the two DCIs, but doesn't ensure redundancy (if I understand correctly), i.e. if one of DCI links go down, so will the vlans extended through it.
Does anyone know a solution or workaround for this? Or do we have to live with this caveat for now?
Also I've been reading in guides (which are from some time back) that N7Ks will have support for loopback interfaces as OTV join interfaces. Is this feature already supported, or still in pipeline?
