Greetings to all the esteemed members of this community..
Mugging with Cisco for so long.. Ever grasped the endless world of Cisco Devices Brochure ?
I am trying to understand the meaning of Every single letter in a Cisco Device's Name.. (I am focussed on Routers, Switches, ASAs, IPS)
Is there anybody who can explain the nomenclature in detail ? or provide me a proper link ?
I mean, there should be a logic behind naming.. There is Catalyst Series which ranges from 2900, 3500, 3700, 4500 ( Correct me if I am wrong) and then Nexus Series..
There are Routers like 800 Series, 1800, 1900, 2800, 7200 ! Then there are ISR routers !
Thankfully I have a litle understanding of Cisco ASA family as majority of it is in 5500 & 5500-X only..
So Please, Whosoever can guide me, I will be really thankfull to him.. It is something very crucial..
P.S: Cristian Matei.. I hope you will be the first one to reply..
Waiting in Anticipation,
