BGP Send Community

is there any reason we would want to use BGP Send Community in IPv4 unicast peerings?  I know we need to send communities for VPN peerings (auto-added) and MDT peerings (not auto-added), but what scenarios, if any would we want to send them for "regular" unicast peerings specific to L3VPNs, L2VPNs, & MDT and not strictly for filtering and/or controlling what peers advertise and don't advertise e.g. no export etc.   any other uses for unicast peerings that we should consider for lab preparation?
