Datastore concept for the ESXi hosts

Hi Experts,

I'd like some expert guidelines on the datadata store on esxi host and vcenter.

Say I have a JOB with 8 disks.  I have successfully SAN booted two B250-M1 blades - where each of the server is zoned up with one disk of the JBOD.

When I connect to ESXi host, I see a LUN and created a datastore for each host.  So far so good.

Now, how would I share a 3rd disk with ESXi host1 and ESXi host2?  I can add the 3rd disk pwwn to the ZONE1 and ZONE2, but i can't seem to convert them a datastore to be shared between ESXi host1 and ESXi host2.

Do I need to use a vcenter (running as a VM, not yet installed) for this common vmfs datastore to be shared among ESXi hosts?  If so, would I zone it with the Window 2008R2 (which is running vCetner)'s HBA's pwwn and the 3rd disk to be shared?  Would the window 2008R2 HBA's do a separate flogi different than the ESXi's HBA flogi?

Best regards,

Giyoung.
